Position:2 Forklift Driver

Location: Bay of plenty

Hours: The position is full-time and at least 30 hours of work is guaranteed per week, additional hours up to 45 per week may be available on occasion

Wage: 32-35$ per hour

We are a busy Bay of Plenty-based horticulture contracting service provider. We have full-time forklift driver vacancies and would like to hear from applicants who meet the requirements mentioned below.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to transport bins, pallets and cartons of chemicals, fertilisers, equipment, and harvested kiwifruit at appropriate loading areas.
• Safely load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas.
• Position and stack bins and pallets of kiwifruit in designated storage zones to ensure efficient handling and traceability.
• Move fruit between processing lines and dispatch areas according to operational requirements.
• Monitor forklift gauges, controls, and any electronic guidance systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Carry out daily checks on forklifts to identify any wear, damage, or maintenance requirements, and report issues promptly.
• Perform basic servicing tasks and minor adjustments to forklifts to maintain safe operating condition.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures specific to food handling and packhouse environments.
• Assist in keeping loading and storage areas organised for easy access during packing and distribution.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years’ experience working in agriculture/horticulture or a relevant tertiary qualification (level 4 or higher).

• Driver’s license and a good understanding of how to operate different types of forklifts.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Comfortable working in rural areas and in all weather conditions.
