Better Support Solutions is NDIS registered provider and provides a big range of services to NDIS participants.

We are currently experiencing high demand for our Community Care and NDIS Services and we are looking for committed and energetic Disability Support Worker to join our friendly team to deliver these services.

About the Role

We are seeking disability support workers who are willing to work either Blacktown or campelltown area and are willing to accept shifts from 4 hours to 10 hours

• As a Disability Support Worker, you will be required to assist people to live in their homes or SIL home by assisting them with personal care, home activities, such as meal preparation, cleaning and laundry
• Support clients to live an active and independent life by participating in community programs
• Implement positive behaviour support strategies in line with behaviour support plans
• Assist with medication administration, personal care, hygiene, and daily living activities
• Communicate with manager about clients` progress
• Help with household tasks like cooking, cleaning, and menu planning
• Maintain accurate records and progress notes
• Learn and develop full competency around each clients’ plans to ensure safety and workplace compliance
• Must have driver license and comprehensive insurance to safely transport residents to appointments and external programs if you are supporting community clients.
• Transport - to and from appointments or grocery shopping
• Social & Community participation - encourage participants to engage with the community
• Attending medical and health appointments
• Assisting them in pursuing their passions and hobbies

About you

• Certificate in disability industry and minimum 2 years working experience is essential
• Current WWCC Check
• Current police check
• NDIS worker's screening check
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
• Working vehicle registered
• Valid Australia full Driver License and vehicle
• Willingness to transport participants in your own car
• Clear communication and listening skills
• A person-centered approach to Support
• fully vaccinated (proof required as part of employment)
• Two referees
• Easy, outgoing personality
