Job Description
AE, part of UP Education, is seeking an Academic Data Analyst to turn academic and student data into insights that support decision making across our higher education programmes.
Reporting to the Provost, you will analyse student progression, academic outcomes, and enrolment trends to inform academic governance, planning, and quality assurance.
You will produce reports and dashboards on key indicators such as retention, progression, completion rates, and grade distribution. Your analysis will support governance bodies including Academic Board and Course Advisory Committees and help leaders identify trends and potential risks.
You will also contribute to enrolment forecasting and predictive modelling, helping AE plan course delivery, staffing requirements, and future programme growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing student progression, attrition, and completion trends
- Producing reports on academic outcomes and grade distributions
- Identifying trends and risk indicators affecting student success
- Developing enrolment forecasts and predictive models
- Supporting staffing and resource planning through data insights
- Creating dashboards and reports for academic governance and leadership
- Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with institutional requirements
Qualifications
You are a strong analytical thinker who enjoys turning complex data into practical insights. You are comfortable translating analysis into clear reporting that supports academic and executive decision making.
You will also bring:
- Advanced Excel skills including modelling and complex analysis
- Experience working with SQL and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Strong statistical and quantitative analysis capability
- Experience building dashboards and presenting insights to stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and strong data governance practices
At AE you will work closely with academic leaders and contribute to improving quality and performance across our higher education programmes.
