Job Overview
Capstone Insurance Group is an independent personal and commercial lines agency based in Champlin, Minnesota. We work with multiple top-rated carriers — which means when a client calls us we have real options to help them, not one product to push. Our team is small, our standards are high, and our reputation has been built entirely on how we treat people.
We have over 535 Google reviews — earned one client at a time. We are looking for someone who understands why that matters and wants to be part of protecting it.
The Opportunity
You do not need an insurance license to apply for this role — but you will need to get one. We will support you every step of the way. What we need you to bring on day one is five or more years of genuine customer service experience and the drive to learn a new industry from the ground up. If you are someone who takes pride in how you treat people and follows through without being reminded — we want to talk to you.
This Role Is Not For Everyone
We would rather be upfront than waste your time. This is a proactive service role — not a passive one. You will be expected to make outbound calls, spot coverage gaps before clients notice them, and take ownership of problems even when they are not your fault. If you are looking for a role where you wait for the phone to ring and do the minimum, this is not the right fit.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- 5 or more years of customer service, client relations, or account management experience — in any industry
- Exceptional verbal and written communication — you can explain complex information in plain language
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail — you own a task until it is done, not until you hand it off
- Comfortable with outbound calling — you do not wait for people to come to you
- Technology proficient — you pick up new systems quickly and use them consistently
- Able to manage multiple priorities without losing track of what matters most
- Professional, dependable, and client-first in every interaction — without exception
- Willing and committed to obtaining your Minnesota P&C license within 90 days of hire
- Currently holds a Minnesota Property and Casualty license — strongly preferred
Responsibilities
This role sits at the center of our client experience. You are the voice our clients hear most often and the person they rely on when something matters.
- Handle inbound client calls, emails, and service requests with professionalism, urgency, and genuine care
- Manage policy changes, billing questions, and coverage inquiries accurately and efficiently
- Make proactive outbound calls to check in with clients, review coverage at renewal, and strengthen relationships
- Identify cross-sell and account rounding opportunities and bring them to the attention of the team
- Support the sales producers with quoting, follow up, and pipeline activity during busy periods
- Maintain accurate and up to date client records in our agency management system
- Communicate with carrier representatives to resolve policy issues on behalf of clients
- Resolve complaints and difficult situations with empathy, ownership, and a solution mindset
- Work toward obtaining your Minnesota Property and Casualty license — we will guide and support you through the process
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions that keep you sharp and growing
What this role is not: This is not a passive inbound service desk where you answer calls and close tickets. We expect you to be proactive — following up without being asked, spotting problems before clients notice them, and treating every interaction as a chance to strengthen the relationship. If you are looking for a role where you can coast on experience and avoid difficult conversations, this is not the right fit.
