Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team. Duties

• Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment scheduling.
• Perform bank reconciliations, cash flow analysis, and journal entries to maintain precise financial records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to aid strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits to uphold corporate governance standards.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient financial management.
• Assist with regulatory reporting requirements related to governmental accounting and securities law.
• Contribute to technical accounting projects involving complex topics like LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), non-profit accounting, or estate law as needed.
• Mentor junior team members in accounting best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Experience

• Proven experience in corporate or public accounting environments with a strong foundation in financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation, financial report writing, and interpretation of financial data.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including SOX compliance and securities law is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with various accounting software solutions such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft or equivalent is essential.
• Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
• Ability to perform detailed account analysis, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliation efficiently.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modeling; experience with other financial software is advantageous.
• Prior experience in auditing or regulatory reporting enhances your candidacy.
