THE ROLE
The Accounting Intern will support the accounting team with day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This internship requires a minimum of 16 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, with additional hours available during academic breaks (e.g., winter and summer).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and upload journal entries to support monthly close activities
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with resolving discrepancies
- Conduct account analysis to support financial reporting and decision-making
- Support strategic projects, including ERP implementation, contract analysis, and record retention initiatives
- Document accounting procedures and assist in improving internal processes
- Prepare schedules and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies

Education and/or Experience
- Pursuing a bachelor’s in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
- Prior work or internship experience preferred
- Office or corporate experience is a plus
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Skills and Abilities
- Strong Excel skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Interest in pursuing a career in corporate tax, public accounting, or finance.
