Position: Accounting Manager

Location: Kilkenny-on site

Contract: Fixed Term

Overview of role:

The Accounting Manager is a responsible for the management of the operational day to day issues and supervision of the team. The successful candidate will be a key stakeholder in maintaining financial integrity, training and streamlining/optimizing process.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage completion of Monthly close tasks.

· Managing the financial operational day to day issues, training, and supervising team members in internal controls related to Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Accounting and Invoicing, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Tax Compliance.

· Preparation of the monthly and annual financial accounts.

· Ensuring that Accounts Payable are reviewed, approved, properly accounted for, and paid in a timely manner.

· Working with the Finance Team to identify and implement accounting systems continuous improvement plans.

· Manage all aspects of general ledger including analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.

· Verify the accuracy of all job costs as well as the reconciliation of all subledgers to the general ledger (A/P, A/R, cash management, Fixed assets, intercompany balances, etc).

· Reconciliation of all finance operations, control account balances to a month end.

· Monitor and where necessary investigate discrepancies of daily relevant funds.

· Preparation and submission of VAT, RCT and other Tax returns.

· Lead the team to ensure they are adequately trained, familiar with business systems and supporting the business.

· Co-ordination of external audits.

· Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.

· Liaison with group and external audits, tax administration and annual tax audits.

Key Skills and Experience

· Qualified accountant or relevant experience.

· Minimum Five years’ experience in a similar role.

· Proficient in the use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

· Strong organisational skills (time management, prioritisation, goal setting etc)

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

· Proven ability to work on your own initiative and deliver to tight deadlines.

· Self-motivated that can adapt to change within a fast-moving environment.
