Trailhead Unlimited is a leading social hospitality company specialising in the establishment and operation of emergency accommodation. We work with clients in both the private and public sector.
Our work is focused on the provision of accommodation for beneficiaries of Temporary Protection applications (IPs) in Ireland. We focus on developing strong relationships with our residents, helping them to realise their individual needs, aspirations and goals. Fundamentally, we work with IPs to help them achieve longer-term stability and success in Ireland.
Overview of the Role
The Accounts Assistant will be accountable for taking charge of the daily accounting function including sales ledger and preparation of financial reports suitable for presentation. The successful candidate should, therefore, have at least one-two years’ experience in accounts, reconciliations, credit control, advanced Excel and general office administration.
This position is for a full-time permanent role.
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer
Responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant include but are not limited to the following:
- Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Bank and credit card processing and reconciliations
- Purchase ledger processing
- Preparation and processing of weekly payment runs
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Liaising with internal staff in relation to general finance queries
- Dealing with supplier queries
- Preparation and processing of electronic transfers and payments for authorisation
- Recording and posting payments to the system
- Performing the month end closing process and reconciliation of the ledgers, including bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of VAT returns
- Assist and support with annual statutory audits
- Assist with revenue and reconciliations
- Assist with payroll processing
- Ad hoc duties when required
The ideal candidate:
- Strong use of excel
- Familiar with accounting packages such as Xero and Sage
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Clear communicator
- Close attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Experience:
1-2 years accounts assistance experience ideally in the hospitality sector.
