Kenny Stephenson Chapman Solicitors are looking to recruit an Accounts Executive / Compliance Manager to join our busy practice. This full time position is ideal for someone with strong financial acumen and a solid grasp of compliance standards in the legal services industry. Training will be provided for the compliance aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities for Acccounts Executive Role:
- Manage the firms Client & Office Bank accounts, including lodgements, online banking payments, recording all bank transactions and reconciling transactions
- Maintaining accurate records of petty cash
- Handling accounts payable; recording supllier invoices and processing payments.
- Managing accounts receivable; preparing client invoices
- Maintaining client matter ledgers in full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Regulations;
- Preparing relevant compliance and financial reports as required;
- Processing staff expenses and payroll, including ROS submissions and payroll reporting
- Managing VAT returns;
- Recording and reconciling Land Registry, Court Franking and CRO accounts.
- Submitting Stamp Duty Returns to the Revenue Commissions.
- Maintaining the Nominal Ledger, including journal entries and adjustments
- Liaising with external accounts and auditors as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2/3 years experience in a legal accounts position.
- Knowledge of Legal Accounting Software such as Leap is preferred
- Knowledge of VAT reporting obligations
- Knowledge of Solicitor Accounts Regulations
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in general office administration tasks.
Key Responsiblites for Compliance Manager Role:
- Maintaining and updating internal compliance records, procedures, and policies.
- Ensuring all firm files, documentation, and internal processes meet LQSI and legal regulatory standards.
- Supporting the preparation and coordination of compliance audits and reviews.
- Monitoring deadlines and maintaining a calendar of compliance requirements.
- Monitoring and maintaining the firms compliance registers.
- Working with colleagues to ensure consistent application of compliance procedures across the board.
