Adult Services Assistant Manager

As Assistant Manager, you’ll oversee the daily work of the Adult Services staff at the Black Road Branch, support high-quality public service, and help shape programming and collection priorities. Pay: $60,450

Key Responsibilities Include:

Oversee daily operations and supervise Adult Services staff at the Black Road Branch.

Hire, train, and schedule staff to ensure excellent service and consistent workflows.

Collaborate with the Adult Services Manager on programming, outreach, and departmental goals.

Manage adult print and digital collections at the branch, including selection and weeding.

Foster a positive, communicative, and team-oriented work environment.

Lead or assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of adult programs.

Support daily desk operations and serve as a point person for branch-level service needs.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.

Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, or supervise in a work environment.

Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Familiarity with current technology, including e-books, digital resources, and online tools.
