Job Description – Upstream Advanced Account Manager

Position: Advanced Account Manager, Plastic Additives
Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager
Location: Norh, China

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Account Manager to drive growth in the coal-chemical and petrochemical industries across North and Northwest China. This role is responsible for achieving sales targets for plastic additives while acting as a trusted advisor to customers. The successful candidate will leverage our full-service capabilities—from technical support to downstream market promotion—to address customer needs and expand market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with key decision-makers (R&D, Technical, Production, Procurement, Sales, etc.) in existing and prospective accounts.
  • Sales & Business Development: Deliver sales targets within assigned territory. Proactively identify, qualify, and develop new opportunities, and successfully close deals.
  • Consultative Selling: Understand customer challenges (technical and business) and provide tailored solutions that create value.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional efforts, coordinating internal and external resources to manage the sales cycle from initial opportunity through order fulfillment.
  • Market Intelligence: Serve as the “voice of the customer,” providing timely insights on market trends, competitive landscape, and unmet needs.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Technical Support and Downstream Marketing teams to ensure seamless customer experience.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum 8 years in the petrochemical or polymer processing industry, with expertise in:
  • Polypropylene (PP) production processes and downstream applications.
  • Sales, technical support, or R&D for PP resins, plastic additives, or related products (preferred).
  • Experience with coal-chemical/petrochemical clients (advantageous).
  • Skills: Strong relationship management, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Languages: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in Mandarin and English.

Travel: Willing and able to travel extensively within assigned territory (~50%).
