Afternoon Assistant Preschool Teacher

We are looking for a part-time afternoon assistant teacher. The part time will work on site approximately 15-20 hours per week from 2pm/3pm-6pm.This is a great opportunity for someone who needs additional experience in an early childhood classroom, a student of early childhood, or someone who has a morning position.

Responsibilities will include working with children in whole and small groups and individually in a developmentally appropriate way; building relationships with both children and families; planning in collaboration with assistant teacher(s) for appropriate activities that meet children’s needs in all developmental domains; and observing and assessing in an ongoing manner and in a way that informs instruction. Additional responsibilities include:

• Work in a collaborative team model
• Follow expectations/guidelines while integrating fresh ideas that are reflective of Giocare’s philosophy
• Perform daily physical tasks to keep the classroom tidy, organized and accessible for the children and teachers
• Creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, engaging and evolving with the class.

Successful candidate is a quick learner and someone who is eager to gain experience in the early childhood classroom. Ideal candidate is in school for early childhood education and wants to supplement education with real life experience.

Ideal candidate has:

• experience in an early childhood classroom (minimum of 1 full year of experience)
• worked in a DOH permitted program before
• appropriate trainings and fingerprints
• some education background in early childhood (in a program for an associates or bachelors)'

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
