DEQ is recruiting for an Application Development Supervisor within the Information Technology Bureau (ITB). The Application Development Supervisor will lead a team of computer system analysts responsible for maintenance and development of internal software applications, application and database planning, provisioning, and maintenance operations. The Supervisor supports critical agency integration services and triaging of customer support requests that originate from a variety of sources for the applications ITB supports.

This position requires a combination of management, leadership, analytical, technical, and soft skills, gained through diverse work experience. Applicants must possess knowledge and understanding of the concepts, theories, and developmental aspects of computer science, operating systems, relational databases, and software. This position requires excellent technical and non-technical written and oral communication skills with the ability to organize, motivate, and influence professional technical staff. The successful candidate will have the ability to gather clear business requirements, communicate and confirm understanding, and provide guided solutions for both the agency and ITB staff. And most importantly, this position requires servant leadership bringing positive energy to the team, a desire to help staff grow, and commitment to the value of collaboration.

The Application Development Supervisor position includes a career ladder for professional development and pay progression.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Three years of progressively responsible experience in project management, computer programming, systems analysis, end-user training and support and new product evaluation and implementation.

Demonstrated experience in leading people is required, although this may be from roles other than formal supervisory experience.

Other combinations of education and experience may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
