Apprentice Butcher – Iga Mandurah

IGA Mandurah is seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Butcher to join our busy Butcher Department. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in butchery and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail environment. Full training will be provided, and applicants with some previous experience in meat handling, food preparation, or retail will be highly regarded.

As an Apprentice Butcher, you will work closely with experienced butchers to learn meat cutting techniques, product preparation, and food safety standards while contributing to the daily operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist qualified butcher with meat cutting, trimming, and preparation
• Learn correct handling, storage, and rotation of meat products
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety
• Package, label, and stock meat products
• Provide friendly customer service when required
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures
• Set up, stock, and replenish meat displays and cabinets

• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Must meet legal requirements for operating equipment
