Position: Artic Driver Shunt

Reporting to: Driver Manager

Job Summary:
As an Artic Driver Shunt, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely transportation of goods using double trailers (road train) from Cork to Dublin and back. Your primary duties will involve night shunt runs, adhering to scheduled departure and arrival times while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate and drive an artic truck, pulling double trailers (road train) on designated routes between Cork and Dublin.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, adhering to scheduled departure and arrival times.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe and proper working condition.
• Comply with all transport regulations and company policies, including maintaining a current CPC and Tacho card.
• Safely and securely load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including quantities transported, departure and arrival times, and any incidents or delays.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate transport activities and address any issues or concerns.
• Provide excellent customer service, representing the company in a professional manner.
• Assist with any additional duties required by the business to ensure smooth operations.
• Exhibit flexibility with starting and finishing times as required by the transport schedule.

Skills & Competencies:

• Previous experience in driving artic trucks, preferably with experience in double trailers (road train).
• Strong understanding of transport regulations and safety procedures.
• Physical fitness and strength for loading/unloading duties as necessary.
• Good standard of English and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and perform tasks to completion under pressure.
