Assistant Accountant

The Opportunity

As part of the Finance & Accounts team, reporting to the Senior Manager – Finance & Accounts, you will be part of the team responsible for accounting, financial controllership and statutory/tax reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions and liaise with internal and external parties on tax, audit and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage and perform month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
• Review monthly financial statements and reconciliations, analysing and investigating variances and trends.
• Prepare key balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Prepare corporate tax computations and ensure compliance with IRAS requirements.
• Prepare and review GST submissions to ensure compliance with GST rules and regulations.
• Preparation and review of statutory reporting materials including:
  • Consolidation package to Group Finance
  • Tax reporting package to Group Tax
  • Quarterly GST submissions to IRAS
  • XBRL filing of audited financial statements with ACRA
  • Statistical returns with regulatory bodies
• Plan and co-ordinate vehicles and parts stocktake.
• Partner internal stakeholders in process improvement implementations.
• Ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned by the Senior Manager.

• Degree in Accountancy or accountancy professional qualification with at least 4-5 years of relevant experience with some experience in a supervisory role.

• Proficiency in MS office and experience with accounting software.

• Meticulous, organized, process driven, a self-starter and able to work independently to meet deadlines.

• Enjoys working in a high-energy and performance driven environment.

• Ability to handle ambiguity and confidentiality.

• A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
