Assistant Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, managing staff, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills and contribute to the growth of our business in a fast-paced environment. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily store functions, assisting with sales strategies, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Duties

  • Assist in supervising daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and POS transactions
  • Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff
  • Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in bookkeeping and payroll processing
  • Lead and motivate team members to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service
  • Manage pricing strategies, promotional activities, and marketing initiatives to enhance store performance
  • Coordinate training and development programs for staff to improve skills and operational efficiency
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience
  • Assist with budgeting, sales management, and store management tasks to meet business objectives
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Support purchasing decisions and inventory replenishment to optimize stock levels

Requirements

  • Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles with strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in negotiation, marketing, merchandising, and sales management techniques
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
  • Strong administrative skills with experience in bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting, and time management
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering, pricing strategies, and retail sales operations
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with excellent organizational skills
  • Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development is preferred
  • Must possess strong math skills for cash handling and financial tasks

Pay: $18.15-$20.00 per hour
