Assistant Teacher/Floater

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our early childhood education team. This role provides vital support across classrooms, assisting with lesson implementation, classroom management, and individualized student support. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering a positive learning environment and experience working with children of various needs. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of young learners in a nurturing setting, whether in daycare, preschool, or private school environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in developing and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education principles.
  • Support classroom activities that promote social-emotional development, behavior management, and inclusive learning for children with diverse needs.
  • Provide direct care and supervision for children, including toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs, including those with autism or other disabilities.
  • Help maintain a structured classroom environment through effective classroom management techniques.
  • Collaborate with staff on curriculum development and classroom organization to foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support student progress and address any concerns.
  • Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, diaper changes, and transitions between activities while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education practices, behavior management strategies, and working with children with autism or disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and literacy or math education is advantageous.
  • Background in early childhood education, Montessori methods, or preschool experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential.
  • Previous classroom experience in daycare or private school settings will be considered an asset. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood development who want to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ lives while gaining valuable experience in diverse educational environments.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
