Assistant Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Healthcare & Scientific Programmes

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic laboratory procedures across clinical pathology, microbiology, parasitology, and molecular diagnostics in accordance with SOPs

  • Carry out routine pre-analytical tasks, including sample reception, labelling, aliquoting, and basic preparation

  • Prepare materials, reagents, and work areas required for daily laboratory operations

  • Support workflow efficiency by ensuring readiness of consumables and maintaining basic laboratory setup

  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and housekeeping of laboratory workspaces before and after procedures

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with SOPs and reviewed by supervising or authorised personnel

  • Adhere strictly to biosafety, PPE, and laboratory waste management protocols at all times

  • Assist in basic sample and material preparation for ongoing laboratory projects or activities

  • Support general data entry and record-keeping tasks where required

  • Assist with sample transport, equipment cleaning, and general laboratory upkeep

  • Provide support for audit preparation activities and general laboratory organisation

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of laboratory operations

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or NITEC/Higher NITEC in Veterinary Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field

  • Fresh graduates or entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply

  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety and willingness to learn technical skills

  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere strictly to SOPs

  • Good attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately

  • Responsible, organised, and able to work in a structured environment under supervision

  • Willingness to undergo structured training and competency-based development

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Willingness to support flexible work arrangements when required
