Athletic Trainer

Introduction

The Prince William County Police Department is seeking a candidate to join a professional, collaborative, client-centered environment with an emphasis on coordinating athletic training program needs, development, and education.

About This Role: Police Athletic Trainers are housed under the Basic Training Police Academy but provide services to the entire department as a resource for education, injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation. They also can participate in committees and provide training to department members pertaining to injury prevention and wellness.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 4 years of related experience as an Athletic Trainer or related field.

Preferences: National Athletic Trainers’ Association membership. Background or foundational knowledge in strength & conditioning (i.e. CSCS certification) and nutrition. Bachelor's degree or higher in athletic training, certified and in good standing with the athletic training Board of Certification, licensed or eligible for licensure by the Virginia Board of Medicine.

Special Requirements: Successfully complete a background investigation to include polygraph and medical evaluation.

Work Schedule: Up to 32 hours weekly. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule that can accommodate 24/7 shift work.

Hiring Salary Range: $50/hour
