Automotive Service Advisor

Overview
The Automotive Service Advisor plays a crucial role in the automotive service department, acting as the primary point of contact between customers and the service team. This position requires a blend of customer service skills and technical knowledge to ensure that clients receive exceptional service while their vehicles are being maintained or repaired. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive services, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences.

Duties

• Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs.
• Provide detailed explanations of services and repairs required for vehicles.
• Prepare accurate estimates for vehicle maintenance and repair services.
• Upsell additional services based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
• Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions.
• Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
• Stay updated on automotive technology, repair techniques, and industry trends.

Skills

• Proven experience in a dealership environment or auto service management.
• Strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge.
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, and tire services.
• Experience with service writing and auto estimating processes.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Ability to upsell services while maintaining customer trust and satisfaction.
• Knowledge of various automotive systems including transmissions, suspension, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, and air brake systems.
• Cash handling experience is preferred, along with a basic understanding of automobile sales practices.

Pay: $46,528.08 - $80,000.00 per year
