Position Overview
We’re looking for a dependable B-Level Automotive Technician to join our Greenwood shop. In this role, you’ll focus on completing high-quality repairs and maintenance work from clear repair orders and diagnostic direction provided by our senior technicians and service team. Your main responsibility is to perform accurate, safe, and efficient repair work — with steady hours, a well-organized shop, and strong support behind you.
As part of GearSteady Garage Group (Covington, New Castle, Greenwood, Cumberland), you’ll benefit from better equipment, better structure, and real opportunities to advance — without the corporate or franchise headaches. This is an ideal role for a mid-level tech who wants to grow, sharpen their skills, and be part of a technician-first team.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned repairs and maintenance services on a wide range of vehicles, including light-duty trucks and fleet units.
- Perform work such as brakes, suspension, steering, cooling system, fluid services, tires, and other general mechanical repairs.
- Follow diagnostic direction and repair recommendations provided by A-level technicians and the service team—no primary diagnostic responsibility.
- Use repair information systems and follow OEM/industry repair procedures.
- Perform road tests (where appropriate) to confirm repair quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Accurately document work performed on repair orders and in the shop management system.
- Communicate clearly with the service team regarding parts needs, additional findings, or repair status.
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred.
- Proven ability to complete detailed repairs correctly and efficiently from written repair orders and diagnostic direction.
- Competence with common mechanical repairs: brakes, suspension, steering, fluid services, tires, basic electrical, etc.
- Experience using scan tools and modern shop equipment (basic level).
- ASE certifications a plus (willingness to pursue additional certifications is highly valued).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Why Join Us?
- Focus on what you do best: completing quality repair work in a steady, well-run shop.
- Work in a growing, well-equipped, and supportive environment with a mix of fleet and retail work.
- Competitive pay structure that rewards productivity and quality.
- Be part of a quality-driven shop that values your skills and wants you to grow.
- We're building an elite team of dedicated service professionals, if that is something you want to be a part of, apply today.
