Bakery Assistant

Hours

• 2 days per week (Friday and Saturday), with the potential for additional shifts in other departments.
• 5am – 2pm Friday and 5am – 2pm Saturday
• Flexibility to work additional hours to cover holidays and sick leave in the Bakery and Service Deli

Key responsibilities

As a Bakery Assistant, you'll play a key part in ensuring our bakery runs smoothly and that our customers leave with fresh, delicious products they love.

• Baking bread (using frozen dough), cakes and other sweets
• Packing, labelling, and merchandising bakery goods to a high standard
• Maintaining accurate pricing and date coding
• Delivering outstanding customer service in the bakery department
• Preparing the department for upcoming shifts and keeping it clean and tidy
• Assisting with end-of-day cleaning in line with our food safety standards

Requirements:

• A positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a bakery, deli or customer service is a plus, but not essential
• Comfortable working early mornings and being on your feet for extended periods
