Barback & Food Runner

Hiring both Barbacks & Food Runners

Location: DÍON
Hours: Various shifts available
Reports to: Restaurant & Bar Managers

About the Role

Our Barbacks and Food Runners form the backbone of our service team at DÍON. These dual support roles ensure the smooth, efficient flow of service across both the bar and the floor. You will work closely with our bartenders, hosts, and servers to keep the guest experience seamless, polished, and consistently elevated.

Key ResponsibilitiesBarback Duties

  • Support the bar team during service by restocking spirits, wine, ice, glassware, garnishes, and any required mise en place.
  • Keep all bar stations clean, organised, and fully set throughout the shift.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties: cleaning, polishing glassware, preparing stock.
  • Recycle and manage waste discreetly and efficiently.
  • Maintain constant communication with bartenders to anticipate needs before they arise.

Food Runner Duties

  • Deliver dishes from kitchen to guests accurately, efficiently, and with a calm, confident presence.
  • Describe dishes clearly when required (training provided).
  • Support servers with clearing tables, resetting stations, and ensuring a smooth turnover.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and flow on the restaurant floor.
  • Assist with running cutlery, water, condiments, and service items as needed.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a bar, runner, or support role is preferred but not essential—attitude matters most.
  • Strong awareness of pace, timing, and service flow.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-energy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset.
  • Ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure.
  • Physically confident: carrying trays, glassware, dishes, and moving efficiently through a busy room.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: €14.35-€14.65 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 45 per week
