Barista

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee and food items, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, retail math, and POS systems while working in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. Prior experience in coffee or food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure your success.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items with attention to quality and presentation
• Operate POS systems such as Toast POS for order processing and cash handling
• Manage customer transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card payments
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations
• Assist customers with menu selections, questions, and special requests to enhance their experience
• Restock supplies, ingredients, and other items as needed throughout shifts
• Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality standards are met
• Support team members during busy periods by multitasking efficiently with time management skills

Experience

• Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the role.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and café operations
• Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation, serving techniques, and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during peak hours
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
