Barista

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant brunch team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and excellent customer service skills, creating a welcoming environment for all guests. This role involves preparing beverages, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Prior experience in food service or coffee industry is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS. The position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced retail environment dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages following established recipes and standards
• Operate POS systems including Touchbistro for order processing and cash handling
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and ensuring their experience exceeds expectations
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change
• Maintain inventory levels, restock supplies, and ensure the café area is clean and organized throughout shifts
• Engage in upselling products to increase sales while promoting new or featured items

Experience

• Previous barista experience or background in the food industry is highly desirable
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple orders during busy periods
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and create a welcoming atmosphere
• Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy
• Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and food preparation techniques
• Experience in serving beverages and food in a café or retail environment is an advantage

Pay: $18.00-$26.70 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week
