Full-Time Barista / Waiter – Proby’s Kitchen (Cork City)

We are currently looking for an experienced full-time Barista / Waiter / Waitress to join our small, friendly team at Probys Kitchen.

Proby’s Kitchen is a busy neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Cork City, just beside St. Finbarr's Cathedral. We serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with a focus on seasonal, stylish and casual cooking, all made from scratch with carefully sourced ingredients.

Our guests know us for great coffee, thoughtful food and warm, relaxed service, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of that kind of atmosphere. Reviews often highlight the welcoming staff and the quality of the food and coffee, which we work hard to maintain every day.

Proby’s Kitchen is run by Pat (Head Chef and former Ballymaloe Cookery School tutor) along with Marianne and Denis, the team behind Liberty Grill and Cafe Gusto. Our approach is simple: good food, made properly, served with genuine hospitality.

The Role

This position combines barista and front-of-house service, so confidence in both is important.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing consistently high-quality coffee
• Greeting and looking after guests
• Taking orders and delivering food and drinks
• Helping maintain a smooth and organised service
• Working closely with a small, supportive team

What We’re Looking For

• Barista experience is essential
• Previous restaurant or café service experience
• Friendly, confident and good with people
• Someone who enjoys working in a busy room
• Reliability and a strong work ethic

Hours

This is a full-time role and will include:

• Weekday shifts
• Weekend work
• Some evening service

Because of the nature of the role, it will not suit someone with fixed daytime commitments during the week.

Pay: €14.20-€15.00 per hour
