Barista/Coffee Shop Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Barista and Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, ensuring that every customer has a delightful experience. This role involves various responsibilities, including greeting customers, serving food and drinks and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Duties

• Preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages and light snacks in accordance with food safety standards.
• Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and ensuring satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee shop, including workstations and dining areas.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic math skills for processing payments.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
• Monitor stock levels of food and beverage items, assisting with inventory management as needed.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations while preparing food and beverages.

Requirements

• Previous barista experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
• Knowledge of food safety practices to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and providing accurate change.
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition towards customers.
