Barista/Host

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista/Host to join our team. We are a well established, family run business that has been serving the community since 1988!

*Please note and acknowledge that if you apply for this position you must be available to start immediately and work throughout the summer including the September long weekend.

As a Host you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers as well as bussing and setting tables. This position has diverse responsibilities as during week days you will also be working as a barista, preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your role will involve engaging with customers, assisting the servers, and ensuring that each guest has an exceptional experience. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working in the food service industry.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, milk shakes and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly.
• Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of food and beverage supplies.
• Follow all food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures.

Experience & Characteristics

• Previous experience in the food industry or food service is required.
• Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
• The ideal candidate we are looking for has a positive attitude and can keep it up under pressure.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.85 per hour
