Obox Solution Ltd. is a one-stop shop for all Accounting Resources, Technology, and Management needs for Accounting Firms. Our team provides virtual accounting services, financial technology implementation and financial technology solution support, in Canada, the UK, the US, and Australia.
We are looking for a Bookkeeping Supervisor to join our team immediately. Our main office is located at 2 St Clair Ave W, 18th floor, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 1L5. However, this role will require on-site work at office and client locations within the Greater Toronto Area and will also allow for remote work. This is a permanent, full-time position of 40 hours/week with an annual salary of $75,000/annum. The language of work for this position is English.
The main responsibilities of the positions include:
· Performing bookkeeping duties while also supervising and managing a team of bookkeepers deployed to work with Client Practices to ensure quality of work and compliance in processes and timely delivery of work
· Delivering bookkeeping, payroll and year end books reconciliations to Client Practices, including maintaining and preparing books, ledgers and financial statements using specialized software such as QuickBooks Online to balance account
· Providing technical support to bookkeepers in preparing and submitting HST, GST forms, and payroll taxes and other government documents such as tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms and pension contribution forms by using specialized software for Clients
· Assisting bookkeepers and Client Practices in using accounting software (such as QuickBooks Online and XERO) to generate financial and accounting summaries or consolidated information for analysis and report preparation
· Recommending Client Practices appropriate bookkeeping technologies such Quickbooks Online, Dext, HubDoc based on their practice needs and particular line of work and assisting them in managing expenses and revenue and finding internal efficiencies through accounting software
· Delegating and assigning tasks to bookkeepers to ensure appropriate allocation of responsibilities while maintaining high standard of work
· Training bookkeepers and Client Practices in the correct and effective use of their financial technology solution to increase efficiency in financial document review and reporting
· Setting up and implementing cloud-based accounting systems for existing and new clients to automate their workflow administration and management reporting
· Establishing system customizations in Quickbooks QBO, Dext, or other bookkeeping/record keeping software that will be required to meet the financial information and training bookkeepers on the use of said customizations
· Developing and implementing comprehensive Standard Operating Procudures (SOPs) for the bookkeeping practice and evaluating and optimizing the entire workflow to enhance efficiency
· Conducting thorough reviews of the existing SOPs and applications to identify areas for improvement and to ensure alignment with best practices
· Establishing and implementing bookkeeping departement policies, including the development of new processes for workflow manegment and client engagement
· Training virtual and local staff to provide the same services
· Reviewing work prepared by more junior staff to ensure accuracy and reliability of the product
· Assisting in managing the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes for large or complex clients
You must have the following qualifications:
· College diploma in bookkeeping or related program (please note a CPA or CA designation is required);
· Extensive experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles;
· Familiarity with Canadian accounting standards, procedures and regulations;
· Experience working with majority of the following accounting software: Quickbooks (Online/Desktop), ZOHO Books, XERO, CaseWare (Desktop/Cloud), and Microsoft Office; and
· Experience working with majority of the following cloud integration applications: HubDoc, Dext, Wagepoint, Payment evolution, QBO/QBD Payroll, Plooto, Shopify, Stripe, A2X, Autoentry, and Workflow software such as Senta, Click-up, Karbon (or similar).
