Are you a natural in sales with a passion for retail, fashion, and growing success? At Royal City Nursery, we’re not just a garden center—we’re a destination for cultivating joy, beauty, and inspiration! We’re looking for a full time Boutique Sales Associate to assist our customers in our fashion, gift and home decor departments; someone who has a positive attitude on the sales floor, loves merchandising, interacting with the general public, embraces creativity, and loves sales.

What you will do:
- Successful customer service and sales
- Maintain and ensure internal signage is correct and present
- Maintain a clean sales floor and back office working area
- Process and promote sales, through creative selling and add on techniques
- Stock, restock and merchandise product to create visually appealing and effectively selling displays on a regular basis
- Return and follow up on consumer phone calls and requests
- Opening and closing of the store – ensuring all registers are balanced, sales floor and common staff areas are clean/tidy and gates are locked appropriately
- Cashier duties as needed
- Maintain open and free communication with supervisors
- Act as a liaison between customer and company
- Be able to deal with difficult customers and complaints or warrantee issues, by successfully diffusing the situation and arriving at a positive resolution
- Full understanding, following and enforcement of company policies
- Attendance of all regular staff and safety meetings
- Other tasks as required for the safe and effective running of the business.
What you will bring:
Experience:
- 1- 3 years of retail experience (women's fashion and gift shop experience? Even better!)
- Proven knowledge of retail sales ability
- Proven ability in fostering an exceptional retail experience for both clients and team members
- Experience with cash and POS systems.

- Expertise in all aspects of the appropriate product line

- Able to safely operate and understand sales technology and equipment on hand
- Strong computer skills and ability to work with cash

- Excellent decision-making ability and problem solving skills.
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to effectively cross merchandise a diverse range of products and services
- Computer skills (the use of a POS system)
- First Aid Training (preferred)..
Physical and Working Environment Requirements:
- Able to stand, walk, kneel, for extended periods on a variety of surfaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently, perform repeated movements, kneeling, crouching etc.
- Ability to comfortably work on a ladder or step stool.
- Comfortable working in greenhouses, and other seasonal environments.
- Please note: Must be able to work some evening and weekend shifts on a weekly basis
