Butcher/Meat Cutter

Overview
Savory Market & Deli ( previous Tim's meats) is a locally owned butcher and deli shop. we are seeking skilled and reliable butcher/meat cutters to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and possess the necessary skills to prepare meat products and provide good customer service.

Duties

• Cut, trim, debone, and portion various meats.
• Grind meat, prepare sausage, and marinate or season cuts as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat preparation area, adhering to food handling standards.
• Weigh, package, and label meat and deli products for sale.
• Assist customers with inquiries about meat products, providing recommendations and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Process phone-in orders from customers.
• Receive and inspect deliveries, monitor inventory, and rotate stock.
• Arrange and maintain meat and deli displays.

Requirements

• Experience as a butcher, meat cutter, or in a similar food preparation role.
• Strong knife and cutting skills; familiarity with butchery equipment.
• Understanding of food safety practices and regulations related to meat handling.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with customers.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as required.
• Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently or with a team.

Preferred

• Experience in a retail butcher or deli setting.
• Knowledge of various meat cuts and cooking methods.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
