Job Title: Retired Personal Injury Attorney – Investigator Oversight & Case Management
Location: Greater Boston Area (remote)
About Us: We are an investigative services firm supporting personal injury law practices throughout the Greater New York and Boston area. Our private investigators handle field work such as photographs of defects, surveillance, witness statements, records gathering, and meeting with clients to obtain signed paperwork for attorneys. We’re looking for a retired or semi-retired personal injury attorney who still loves the work—but not the grind—to oversee and manage our investigative cases on a daily basis.
Position Overview: The ideal candidate is a former PI attorney who understands what plaintiff firms actually need from investigative work product. You’ll manage a team of private investigators, help shape strategy per case, and ensure our deliverables are accurate, timely, and litigation-ready. Active bar status NOT required.
This is an excellent role for someone who wants to stay engaged in the legal world in a lower-stress, flexible position and enjoys mentoring, reviewing work, and “seeing around corners” in litigation
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage Investigative Workflows
o Assign cases and tasks to private investigators based on experience, geography, and case type
o Monitor progress, deadlines, and quality of ongoing investigations
o Review reports, photographs, video, and other evidence for completeness and usefulness
o Provide training, feedback, and mentoring to investigators on legal expectations
Schedule & Compensation: Remote position with flexible hours. Competitive hourly or flat-fee structure commensurate with experience. Independent contractor or part-time employment arrangement (to be discussed).
Ideal Candidate/Qualifications: Retired PI attorney with knowledge and background.
o Demonstrated experience working with or supervising investigators or paralegals.
o Strong understanding of liability issues in PI cases (auto, premises, medical malpractice).
o Excellent written communication skills and the ability to review and refine reports
o Comfortable using email, basic case management tools, and video conferencing
Pay: $1,000.00 - $2,000.00 per week
Work Location: Remote
