Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional assistance throughout their shopping experience
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments with precision and accountability
• Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance customer satisfaction and sales volume
• Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and merchandised
• Conduct product demos when appropriate to educate customers about features and benefits
• Assist with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store remains inviting and well-maintained
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
• Support team members with supervising experience by collaborating effectively during busy periods

Qualifications

• Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; familiarity with POS systems is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual settings if applicable
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and proactive approach
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a grocery store or retail environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demonstrations is beneficial
• Excellent phone etiquette skills for professional remote communication
