Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and resolving concerns promptly.
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits, encouraging additional purchases through upselling strategies.
• Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to ensure an attractive shopping environment.
• Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and performing basic math calculations.
• Assist in stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and ensuring products are available for customers in a timely manner.
• Use effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone.
• Support grocery store operations by applying retail math skills for inventory management and sales tracking.
• Engage with bilingual customers to provide inclusive service that meets diverse needs.
• Promote store promotions and product demos to enhance the shopping experience.

Experience

• Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially in managing team members or assisting with training new staff.
• Familiarity with POS systems, merchandising, stocking procedures, and grocery store operations is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with customers effectively and maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our diverse customer base better.
• Basic math skills are necessary for accurate cash handling and sales calculations.
