Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales associate (second shift - 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM) to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a knack for sales. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting them with their purchases, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. You will be responsible for operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, and promoting products through effective communication and upselling techniques.

Duties

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their inquiries.
• Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently, processing transactions and handling cash.
• Stock shelves and maintain product displays to ensure the store is well-organized and visually appealing.
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits, enhancing their shopping experience.
• Utilize upselling techniques to encourage additional purchases while maintaining a positive rapport with customers.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area as well as the sales floor.
• Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate transactions.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
• Familiarity with cash register operations is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A proactive attitude towards upselling products and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Willingness to learn about products to provide knowledgeable assistance to customers.
• Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
