Council is seeking applications from enthusiastic motivated individuals for the following position.

CASUAL ANIMAL ATTENDANT

The Casual Animal Attendant is responsible for providing and contributing to the physical and mental wellbeing of the animals at the facility, ensuring high standards of animal welfare are adhered to, while meeting legislative requirements and best practice guidelines. Assisting with exercising, enrichment, and socialisation of animals at the facility.

Duties will include:

  • Clean and maintain the Pound & Rehoming Centre
  • Exercising, feeding and watering of animals
  • Reporting any diseased or unwell animals
  • Clean and sanitise each enclosure and change bedding if required

Qualifications: The successful applicant will require a current Australian driver licence and a current first aid certificate. Please include copies of all relevant licenses and qualifications with your application.

Skills & Knowledge: The successful applicant will require good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised.

Hours of work: Weekends and public holidays.

Salary and conditions: Commencement hourly rate $37.0210 (inclusive of casual loading). Penalty rates for any weekend work (Grade 5) plus superannuation.
