3 New Opportunities - Join our growing Claims Specialist team for Life Insurance Claims.

You are familiar with specific Life Insurance administration and claims handling, such as Rest’s administrator for the handling of lodgement, member interaction with cover, death claims and claims payment. We know, as a specialist that you can be required to cross skill into the understanding and assessment of group insurance claims (Income Protection, Total and Permanent Disability, etc.)

  • Work to continuously improve the claims experience for members and their beneficiaries and to ensure that any outsource providers are delivering service to Rest’s required standards.
  • Review and assist with the resolution of complex claims.
  • Represent Rest in discussions with Rest’s vendors and drive discussions on service delivery with Rest’s vendors.
  • Oversee the management of Rest members’ claims (with a focus on death claims) to ensure their efficient review and handling.
  • Learn and keep up to date knowledge on superannuation and life insurance claim assessment principles
  • Engage in co-location (virtual/onsite) routines with Rest’s administrator to monitor and embed claims assessment principles and operational rhythms in administrator stuff.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in both administration and life insurance processes and service, working to address systematic issues.

Qualifications
  • RG146 in Superannuation
  • Extensive knowledge/experience with group life insurance policies, definitions, eligibility criteria, Terms & Conditions.
  • Claims assessment experience with a super fund, or Life Insurance insurer as a Claims Administrator, Claims Adviser or Claims Specialist.
  • Advanced customer service skills and ability to manage sensitive, emotionally charged situations effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability with attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of super and insurance legislation and practice in particular to Life Insurance.
  • Excellent professional level of written and verbal communication and stakeholder relationship engagement skills.
  • Experience representing organisations when dealing with 3rd party vendors.
