Cleaner (Manufacturing Environment)

Location: Clondalkin and Cherry Orchard (Multi-site, rotational)
Department: Cleaning Team
Reports to: Office Manager
Standard Work Hours: Minimum 24 hours per week, occasionally up to 28 hours. Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 15:00. Optional overtime on Fridays (if the facility is open) paid at 1.5x from 08:00 to 12:00.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented cleaner to join our team in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across our production offices, canteens, and staff facilities. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, clean, and hygienic working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform cleaning tasks according to the established schedule, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and wiping down surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas regularly to maintain hygiene standards.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables in designated areas and ensure proper waste management practices are followed.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and report any shortages or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuum cleaners safely and effectively.
• Follow safety guidelines while performing cleaning duties to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Assist in maintaining inventory records of cleaning supplies and request replenishment as needed.
• Adhere to all company policies regarding cleanliness and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure a clean and organized working environment.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or management team.

Person Specification:

• Prior experience in performing cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects, is required.
• Previous experience in a commercial cleaning setting is required.
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques, equipment, and products used in industrial settings is an advantage.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and guidelines related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and supervisors.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including occasional weekends or evenings, as rarely required.
