Position Overview
This is a unique position that combines a broad range of tasks including data entry, scheduling, customer service, and management of volunteer/service programs. The ideal candidate for this job is a high-energy multi-tasker who willingly takes direction from supervisors and executes tasks independently. Key duties include clerical support, coordinating district service programs, service program scheduling, inventory control for People’s Patch, and serving as the People’s Patch Volunteer Coordinator. Applicants must have a flexible schedule to be considered for this part-time position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(All duties listed may not be included in any one position nor does the list include all tasks found in a position of this class.)
Communication: Fosters a positive environment and assist co-workers and public in performing tasks as directed by supervisor.- Training & Support: Prepare materials for orders pertaining to garden/garden maintenance. Provide garden/horticultural updates to public. Data entry to prepare reports for supervisor/staff meetings, maintain files, answer phones.
- Program Management & Scheduling: Oversees daily operations and scheduling of volunteer, transportation, and MPR services.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Attract and onboard new volunteers, including volunteer demographics.
- Recognition & Retention: Implement recognition programs to keep co-workers and volunteers engaged.
Education and Experience
Education
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- Graduation from a standard high school including business courses.
- Customer Service
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Minimum 2 year’s office/clerical experience
- Minimum 1 year volunteer coordinator or experience equivalent to
- Analyze operational methods/problem solve
- Apt relationships with coworkers, organizations, and members of the public
- Apt oral and written communication
Other Requirements
Physical Requirements
Work primarily performed in an office environment. Work may occasionally be performed in the field which involves everyday risks or discomforts and require normal safety precautions when operating equipment and performing work associated. Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying items under 25 pounds such as books, papers, office supplies, and file folders. Work requires the physical ability to position oneself in a stationary position for extended periods of time and operate a computer keyboard.
Certifications or Licenses Required
Valid driver’s license. Must maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the Madison County insurance provider.
