Dawnlough is a progressive precision engineering company providing expertise in design and manufacture of specialist parts and equipment for the aerospace and medical device industries. It has recently joined the Acrotec Group, an independent group of professional specialised in micro-mechanics precision. We serve various industries and are organized into three distinct business divisions: Watchmaking jewellery, MedTech, and Precision High-Tech. We are looking to recruit apprentices to join our team.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and skills in programming CNC Turning centres to manufacture complex precision engineering components. The candidate will be required to run CNC Turning centres as part of the production team to meet production targets. As part of their duties, they will be required to program and setup CNC Turning centres for General Operators to run. They will also be required to train other operators in basic skills running CNC machines.

Your Role

· Operating ‘State of the Art’ CNC machines

· Set-up machines including raw material and tooling, in accordance with part requirements

· Machining of company products to conform to drawing tolerances.

· Ability to read, understand engineering drawings and specifications.

· Inspect parts with the relevant equipment to ensure all components are manufacture to drawing and are within specified tolerances/quality standards

· Work with very small and precise products.

· Continually assess tool condition and maintain as necessary.

· Diagnose and resolve various production issues as they arise.

· Identify tool wear or damage and set-up new tools.

· Work within a team to produce machined projects.

· Self-assess work in accordance with company standards.

Requirements for the Role

· Fully conversant with Solid Works, Solid Cam and other CAD/CAM programs.

· Ability to read and interpret design drawings

· Ability to communicate effectively

· Work as part of a team

· Show a positive attitude to learning new skills

· Capability to troubleshoot and solve problems

· Good time keeping

· Excellent attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €20.00-€22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week

Additional pay:

  • Overtime pay
