Café Supervisor – Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Café Supervisor to join our team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the café, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth workflow, and team efficiency. This is a hands-on role that requires both leadership and the ability to support staff on the floor when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
• Supervise and support front-of-house and barista staff.
• Train, mentor, and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
• Manage staff rosters and ensure adequate shift coverage.
• Monitor stock levels, place supplier orders, and control wastage.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety standards are met.
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and resolve issues professionally.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily reporting.
• Work closely with management to achieve sales targets and maintain high service standards.

Skills & Requirements

• Previous experience in a café/restaurant supervisory role (minimum 1–2 years preferred).
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of specialty coffee and café service standards.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Barista skills are highly regarded.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.95 – $47.38 per hour
