Commercial Construction Estimator

Required Education & Experience:
5+ years commercial construction experience.
3+ years estimating and project management experience on projects $1M and above.

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
AutoCAD experience.
1+ years in-house design experience.

Duties:

Responsible for developing and managing project budgets throughout the Preconstruction process.
This includes performing detailed plan take-offs, preparing cost estimates, developing scopes of work, soliciting and analyzing subcontractor bids, and providing value engineering input.
The Estimator also supports Project Managers with administrative tasks, maintains bid records, manages subcontractor relationships, and oversees the pre-qualification of new trade partners.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Accurately navigate and extract key information (e.g., quantities, areas, dimensions, material lists) from construction plans and schedules, organizing data for reference and future use.
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the scope and complexity of work as outlined in civil, architectural, structural, MEP, and other related plan sets and specifications.
Use industry-standard software, such as Bluebeam or equivalent tools, to effectively document and manage all construction plan details.
Maintain a well-organized and up-to-date Drawing Log to track plan set changes, revisions, and version control.

Conceptual Estimating:
Develop and maintain the Commercial Construction Actual Cost Database by exporting, organizing, and summarizing cost data from project management software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
