The role

We are looking for a highly motivated & experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our high performing Central Commercial Markets Team. If you are ready to hit the ground running and work closely with our Business Development Managers, this is your chance to strengthen relationships with intermediaries while handling new business, renewals & endorsements.

• Ensuring all risks are underwritten and accepted within authorised limits;
• Managing a small portfolio of new business and ensuring the renewal of business.
• Instrumental in process improvement.
• Achieving high levels of quote conversion whilst maintaining turnaround time SLAs.
• Monitoring and analysing trends across renewals and claims.

Responsibilities

Qualifications and experience

You’ll bring 3+ years’ experience within commercial lines products and have a strong understanding of the New Zealand market and emerging trends. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills with the ability to engage well with internal & external stakeholders. Working closely with the Business Development Managers, you’ll be involved with new business, renewals and endorsements on a day-to-day basis, while strengthening relationships with intermediaries.
