Configuration Manager Or Software Asset Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sigma Technology Information is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as a either a Configuration Manager or a Software Asset Manager.

We have seen an increased demand from our customers for these roles and are now looking for experienced candidates in these fields to join our team of consultants at our different locations in Sweden.

As a Configuration Manager, you might be responsible for:

• Manage the end-to-end process connected to software configuration, including planning, estimating, and configuring software.
• Identify and document the functional and physical characteristics of configuration items, control changes to these items, and ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with different teams and stakeholders, to ensure proper implementation of configuration management plans.
• Conduct configuration management audits to verify compliance with the configuration management plan and fix any defects in the configuration.

As a Software Asset Manager, you might be responsible for:

• Maintain an accurate inventory of all software assets, including licenses, subscriptions, and usage metrics.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to optimize software usage and reduce costs.
• Manage relationships with software vendors and negotiate contracts and renewals.
• Generate regular reports on software asset status, usage, and compliance.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for software asset management.
• Work closely with IT, procurement, and finance teams to align software asset management with organizational goals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

For both positions:

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS, PERSONAL TRAITS AND EXPERIENCE

For the Configuration Manager:

• Experience with configuration management tools
• Knowledge of CMDB and ITIL practices
• Strong organizational and documentation skills

For the Software Asset Manager:

• Experience with software asset management tools
• Knowledge of software licensing agreements and compliance
• Familiarity with ITIL practices
