Construction Estimator

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately estimating project costs, evaluating bids, and ensuring that all aspects of the construction projects are financially viable. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in construction estimating software, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.

Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to gather necessary information for pricing.
• Conduct thorough market research to determine competitive pricing for materials and labor.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing options.
• Review and analyze bid proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.
• Provide support during the bidding process by answering questions from contractors and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management principles.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively negotiate prices with vendors and subcontractors.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration with team members and clients.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
