Contract Logistics Specialist – Ireland1. Purpose of the Role
The Contract Logistics Specialist is responsible for supporting the end-to-end coordination of warehouse and logistics operations within the Kuehne+Nagel facility. This includes inventory oversight, order processing, customer service, reporting, and compliance activities.
The role ensures operational efficiency, high service standards, and strong customer relationships, while maintaining accuracy and compliance with agreed KPIs and regulatory requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including receiving, storage, and dispatch operations.
- Ensure accurate system processing within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for inventory, orders, and shipments.
- Support inventory control processes, including cycle counts and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Monitor stock movements and collaborate with operational teams to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure all shipping and customs documentation is complete and accurate prior to dispatch.
- Act as a key point of contact for customer queries, providing timely and accurate updates.
- Prepare operational and performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Support KPI tracking across warehouse operations, including service levels, accuracy, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) where applicable.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to internal quality standards, SOPs, and company guidelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse, transport, and customer service teams.
- Support training and knowledge sharing across the logistics function.
3. Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel within Ireland may be required.
4. Decision-Making & Impact
- Contribute to operational decision-making to support service delivery and efficiency.
- Resolve day-to-day logistics issues using sound judgment and collaboration.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer requirements.
5. Key Working Relationships
- Internal: Warehouse operations, transport teams, customer service, and quality teams.
- External: Customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Maintain clear communication and escalate issues appropriately.
6. Experience & Expertise
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Understanding of inventory processes (as part of broader logistics responsibilities).
- Familiarity with transport, shipping, or customs documentation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of GDP/GMP standards is desirable.
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP or similar systems experience preferred.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: €36,000.00-€38,000.00 per year
