Job Summary

As a Counter Server/Bartender, you’ll be the face of Mercado—taking guest orders, preparing drinks, and processing payments while ensuring every guest has a positive experience. This hybrid role combines counter service, cashiering, and bartending, offering variety, teamwork, and strong earning potential in a tipped position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests, answer menu questions, and provide friendly, helpful service.
  • Take and process orders accurately through the POS system.
  • Handle cash, credit, and digital payments, ensuring accuracy and proper change.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including margaritas and specialty cocktails.
  • Manage take-out and delivery orders, ensuring food is packaged correctly and ready for pickup.
  • Promote specials and upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience.
  • Restock beverages, garnishes, and bar supplies as needed.
  • Balance cash drawer at the start and end of shifts, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of counter, bar, and service areas.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and managers to ensure smooth service flow.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a server, cashier, or bartender preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to serve alcohol in Florida.
  • Reliable, organized, and team-oriented with a positive, guest-focused attitude.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks (carrying orders, stocking supplies).
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
