Job Summary

Daybreak Naas is seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Assistant to join our fresh food team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food quality and a "customer-first" attitude. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality hot and cold food while maintaining a spotless, compliant workspace.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and serve fresh sandwiches, rolls, salads, and hot deli items to order.
• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and handle orders efficiently, even during high-pressure breakfast and lunch rushes.
• HACCP & Hygiene: Maintain rigorous food safety standards, including temperature recording, stock rotation (FIFO), and deep-cleaning schedules.
• Stock Management: Monitor deli stock levels and assist with ordering or replenishing ingredients as needed.
• Display: Ensure the deli glass and display areas are attractive, fully stocked, and correctly priced at all times.
• Merchandising: Restock shelves and ensure the store is well-presented and clean.
• Point of Sale: Assist at the checkout/till during peak times or to cover breaks.
• Waste Management: Monitor stock rotations and manage "use-by" dates effectively.

Requirements

• Experience: At least 6–12 months of experience in a deli or professional food-handling environment is highly preferred.
• HACCP Certified: Valid food safety training is a major advantage (though training can be provided for the right candidate).
• Speed & Accuracy: Ability to work quickly without compromising on food presentation or safety.
• Local Focus: Must be available for early morning starts (deli setup) and weekend shifts.

Pay: From €14.15 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
