Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sterilization Technician / Floater Dental Assistant to join our team for a one-year maternity leave coverage, with the potential for permanent employment based on performance and practice needs.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, efficiency, and organization of the clinical area. This role involves managing sterilization, preparing and turning over hygiene and operatory rooms, organizing supplies, and providing support to hygienists and dental assistants as needed.
Sterilization & Infection Control
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
- Maintain proper sterilization records and monitor equipment for proper function.
- Organize and restock sterilization area supplies as needed.
- Ensure all instruments are packaged, labeled, and stored appropriately for clinical use.
Operatory & Hygiene Room Support
- Set up and take down hygiene and operatory rooms between patients as needed.
- Ensure rooms are properly stocked, disinfected, and ready for the next patient.
- Assist hygienists and dental assistants with room turnover and supply replenishment as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all clinical areas.
Clinical Support / Floating
- Assist dental assistants and hygienists as needed during busy times or procedures.
- Help manage patient flow by preparing rooms ahead of schedule when possible.
- Deliver instruments, materials, or lab cases to appropriate areas as needed.
- Support the clinical team to ensure an efficient and smooth workflow throughout the day.
Inventory & Organization
- Monitor and organize dental and hygiene supplies.
- Report low stock or missing items to the lead assistant or office manager.
- Maintain an orderly sterilization and supply storage area.
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Communicate effectively with all team members to support daily operations.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and office policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 18 per week
Experience:
- Dental Assisting/Floater: 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: In person
